Leadership
Continue to ask questions, always aim to improve, never stop learning, consider all perspectives, listen to everyone's opinions, present yourself with confidence and continue to grow as a person.

With everything I do, I learn something new!
I have held multiple leadership roles throughout, although sometimes the hidden ones without an official title may actually turn out to teach the most.
Leadership has been ingrained in me since elementary school. I love being able to help guide others and help their dreams become a reality.
I have served as the secretary (Fall 2017-Spring 2018), vice president (Fall 2018), and now past president of Hillel at FIU (Spring 2019). I instantly got involved in this organization as it was dear to my heart and it quickly became my home away from home. The happiness shared was contagious. The people I met, from students to the professional were welcoming, uplifting, and encouraging which guided me to venture out of my comfort zone and pursue more which has led me to see the bigger picture of leadership from many other perspectives.
I co-lead FIU's Annual Holocaust and Genocide Awareness Week 2018 and was the chair of the committee for 2019. It was created by a multi-cultural committee of students, working together with various organizations, departments, community members, faculty, and staff to raise awareness and understanding about the atrocities of the Holocaust, genocide, and mass violence around the world. The week of events featured interactive lectures, panel discussions, and concurrent exhibitions. Hosted were survivors, speakers, and guests and opened to all of FIU and the community. The committee wished to inspire fellow students to expand their knowledge and become active and engaged members of their communities and the world.
As part of the Global Learning Program, I was the emcee for FIU Language Day in 2017 and 2018 as well as helped organize alongside a committee of others including students, and staff. I was able to interact and speak with others and help them to do the same. This was not only such an amazing and fun event to be involved in but I was able to learn about other cultures and languages at the same time!
Fall 2018-Spring 2019, I served as a senator of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education and was a member of the committee for Student Advocacy within the Student Government Association. I had the opportunity to learn about politics and policy and understand more of what goes on in the university. I met such great people, from those that became friends to those I know I could confide in and help me to further my ideas. Gaining connections and the full understanding of networking was just a little key to bettering my leadership skills. This opened my eyes to an entirely new way of being able to help students and others in any way I could. I was able to stand up and truly be the voice and ensure them that they were being heard and that their opinion matters.
